Factory in Dong Thap awards 1,000 gold taels to workers

One thousand long-term employees at Du Duc Vietnam Limited Liability Company in Tan Huong industrial park (formerly Tien Giang) each received an 18K gold tael.

On 16/1, Nguyen Van Be Ba, chairman of the trade union at Du Duc Vietnam Limited Liability Company (LLC), announced that each worker with 15 years or more of service received one gold tael, valued at 10-11 million VND. The company invested nearly 11 billion VND in this awards program.

Ba stated that awarding gold to employees is a company tradition, though this year marked the largest number of recipients. In previous years, the company only presented gold annually to individuals who transferred from its parent company in TP HCM to work in Dong Thap.

Established in 2010, Du Duc Vietnam LLC employs approximately 9,000 workers, specializing in supplying materials and manufacturing athletic footwear. The company is a member of the Pou Chen International Group from Taiwan, which at one point employed nearly 100,000 workers, making it the largest employer in the country.

The Department of Home Affairs of Dong Thap province reported that 180 businesses have submitted their Lunar New Year (Binh Ngo year) bonus reports. The highest bonus, approximately 300 million VND per person, and the lowest, 100,000 VND per person, were both from foreign-invested enterprises.
