The Ca Mau Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism received the collection from Vo Hieu Dan, daughter of late prime minister Vo Van Kiet, who represented the family in the handover on the afternoon of 28/9.

Many documents directly relate to Ca Mau and the former Minh Hai province, including handwritten notes from Vo Van Kiet's working notebooks with the locality from 1984-2005. The collection also features materials and outlines on developing the U Minh forest, as well as images from his working trips to Ca Mau, Bac Lieu, and the Mekong Delta. This strong connection was a key reason why the family chose Ca Mau to preserve, research, and display these materials.

The collection also includes images of major projects and activities associated with Vo Van Kiet's career, such as the Tri An and Yaly hydropower plants and the 500 kV north-south power line. It covers his time working in Ho Chi Minh City, with the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, and with the Youth Volunteers force from 1976-1982. Additionally, some photographs capture his daily life and personal interests, including photography and sports.

The donated artifacts include vests, clothing, binoculars, cameras, glasses, hats, pens, books, and newspaper articles about the late prime minister. The collection also features gifts he received during working trips to Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Indonesia, and other Southeast Asian countries. A bust of the late prime minister is expected to be handed over by the family at a later date.

The family also donated numerous documentary films about Vo Van Kiet and major projects like the 500 kV north-south power line and rural electrification. The donation includes 77 video clips featuring interviews with leaders, experts in energy, irrigation, economics, and construction, members of advisory groups, and residents of the Mekong Delta.

According to the family, additional clips will be provided based on the official exhibition outline of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee Historical Museum.

Vo Hieu Dan stated that these documents and artifacts are mementos connected to her father's life, work, and various stages of his career. The family hopes that Ca Mau will preserve, research, and widely present them, especially highlighting his impact and affection for this region and the Mekong Delta.

Nguyen Quoc Thanh, Director of the Ca Mau Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, affirmed that the donated materials will be inventoried, preserved, and researched. Suitable documents will be selected for display at the Provincial Party Committee Historical Museum.

Late prime minister Vo Van Kiet, whose birth name was Phan Van Hoa and alias was Sau Dan, was born in 1922 in Vung Liem district, Vinh Long province, and passed away in 2008. He served as Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Chairman of the Council of Ministers, and Prime Minister.
