Fire at motorbike shop in Ho Chi Minh City spreads to residential homes

Flames erupted at a motorbike shop on Nguyen Thi Tu street, Binh Tan ward, spreading to two nearby houses; police are searching for individuals suspected of being trapped, on the morning of 7/10.

Around 4 am, a fire broke out at a motorbike shop, approximately 300 square meters in size, located about one kilometer from Go May overpass. Many who noticed the incident used mini fire extinguishers to douse the flames, but their efforts were unsuccessful. Some individuals, suffering burns, managed to escape before the fierce fire fully engulfed the entire shop.

The fire quickly spread to an adjacent clothing store and a three-story house operating as a restaurant.

Numerous fire trucks and about 50 firefighters quickly arrived at the scene. Firefighters used hoses to bring the blaze under control after approximately one hour. The fire destroyed most of the motorbike shop, causing the roof and steel frame to collapse. The two neighboring houses also sustained significant property damage, with cracked walls and black smoke stains.

Dang Khoa, who lives near the scene, reported that the fire erupted with great intensity, accompanied by continuous explosions, which prevented many people from approaching. "A man, burned and covered in black smoke on his skin and clothes, ran out in a panic", Khoa stated.

By 6 am, authorities were still spraying water to cool the area and searching for individuals suspected of being trapped in the debris.
