Fire at motorcycle parts store next to gas station

A fire engulfed a motorcycle parts store spanning about 100 m2 in Phuoc Binh ward, prompting the adjacent gas station to relocate its tanker trucks as a precaution against spread, on the afternoon of 5/8.

A motorcycle parts and renovation store on DT 741 road in Phuoc Binh ward caught fire on the afternoon of 5/8, necessitating the relocation of tanker trucks from a nearby gas station to prevent the blaze from spreading. The fire, which started around 3 PM, quickly engulfed the 100 m2 store due to the presence of numerous flammable materials.

Upon detecting the fire, employees and residents initially attempted to extinguish the flames with fire extinguishers and moved assets to safety. However, the intensity of the blaze, fueled by the materials inside, caused thick black smoke to rise high, visible from a considerable distance.

The store was located approximately 20 meters from the gas station. Ms. Hien, a resident living opposite the scene, described the fire erupting fiercely from the rear of the store. Concerns over the fire spreading prompted the gas station to move its tanker trucks to a safe area.

Fire police quickly deployed multiple specialized vehicles and dozens of personnel to the scene. Within about 15 minutes, the fire was largely brought under control, successfully preventing it from spreading to the gas station.

While there were no casualties, many motorcycle parts, equipment, and assets within the store were destroyed. The full extent of the damage has not yet been estimated.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
