Forgotten backpack with 5,000 USD returned to Indian tourist at airport

Da Nang airport security forces returned a backpack containing 5,000 USD, foreign currency, and a phone, valued at over 150 million VND, to an Indian tourist who forgot it during check-in.

On 11/3, the Da Nang International Airport Border Police reported that on 5/3, during a patrol at Terminal 1 of Da Nang International Airport, officers from the Domestic Security Control Team discovered a white backpack left behind.

Upon inspection, authorities found numerous items inside, including 5,000 USD, nearly 40,000 Russian rubles, a mobile phone, and personal documents. The total value of the assets was nearly 150 million VND.

After receiving the information, the Domestic Security Control Team coordinated with relevant airport units to identify the owner, an Indian man. The passenger had visited Vietnam for tourism, then flew from Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City (TP HCM) before connecting to a flight back to India. It was only upon arriving in TP HCM that he realized he had left his backpack at Da Nang airport.

Authorities subsequently collaborated with the airline and other relevant units to hand over the assets to their owner.

After retrieving his belongings, the tourist sent a letter of gratitude to the authorities. In his letter, he expressed surprise that all his assets were found and remained intact.
