According to a decision on 9/10, the Dong Da - Hoa Lu five-way intersection, serving as a gateway to Quy Nhon city center, has experienced frequent congestion for many years, especially during peak hours, posing a potential accident risk. The project is expected to commence late this year, aiming to alleviate congestion and reduce traffic conflicts at this crucial urban entry point.
The project's total investment is 900 billion VND. This includes approximately 460 billion VND allocated for compensation, support, and resettlement; 303 billion VND for construction costs; nearly 42 billion VND for project management, consulting, and other expenses; and over 94 billion VND for contingency.
Initially, the project was announced with a total capital of 512 billion VND. The additional 387 billion VND primarily stems from design adjustments, specifically the inclusion of a one-way overpass at the Tran Hung Dao roundabout. This funding is balanced within the mid-term public investment plan for the 2026-2030 period.
The one-way overpass at the Tran Hung Dao roundabout will be 304 meters long and 9 meters wide, featuring two lanes. It is designed to separate traffic flowing from Vo Nguyen Giap to Nguyen Tat Thanh from vehicles turning left from Nguyen Tat Thanh onto Tran Hung Dao.
At the Le Thanh Nghi - Vo Nguyen Giap intersection, the project involves constructing a roundabout island to reorganize traffic flow. Other components, including drainage, lighting, greenery, sidewalks, traffic safety infrastructure, and a smart traffic monitoring system, will also receive synchronized investment.

The project, managed by the Provincial Traffic and Civil Works Project Management Board, is anticipated to resolve years of persistent congestion in the area and improve connectivity among major thoroughfares. The province is also organizing an architectural design competition for the intersection to create a distinctive landmark for Quy Nhon's urban landscape.
