The ban, effective until 12:00 AM on August 27, aims to ensure security and traffic safety before, during, and after the second leg of the ASEAN Cup 2026 final.

The affected routes include Le Quang Dao, Le Duc Tho, Tan My, Me Tri, Tran Huu Duc, Ham Nghi, Nguyen Co Thach, Do Xuan Hop, Nguyen Hoang, Chau Van Liem, and the right service road of Thang Long Avenue, specifically the section from Pham Hung to Le Quang Dao.

The restriction applies to trucks with a designed total mass of 1.5 tons or more and passenger vehicles with 16 seats or more. However, several vehicle types are exempt: buses, garbage collection vehicles, incident response vehicles, those with protection badges, police and military vehicles, and other priority vehicles as regulated.

For personal vehicles and cars with fewer than 16 seats, police will manage traffic flow based on real-time conditions.

During the traffic diversion period, vehicles traveling from National Highway 32 to Thang Long Avenue and vice versa can reroute via Provincial Road 70 or the elevated Ring Road 3.

Hanoi Police advise residents to plan their routes accordingly and comply with instructions from authorities. Fans attending My Dinh Stadium are encouraged to arrive early to avoid congestion before the match.

The second leg of the ASEAN Cup 2026 final between Vietnam and Thailand will kick off at 8:00 PM on August 26 at My Dinh Stadium. The Vietnam national team holds a 2-0 advantage following their victory over Thailand in the first leg.
