The Hanoi People's Committee recently submitted a proposal for the dismissal of members of the City People's Committee for the 2026-2031 term.

According to the proposal, Article 7 of the Law on Capital 2026 grants the City People's Council the authority to determine the number and structure of City People's Committee members. Subsequently, the City People's Council issued Resolution 50, which limits the number of City People's Committee members to no more than 6.

These 6 individuals are the heads of specialized agencies under the City People's Committee, advising on areas such as Office, Finance, Internal Affairs, Justice, the Commander of the Capital High Command, and the Director of the City Police.

Comparing the aforementioned structure with the department and sector leaders already elected and confirmed by the City People's Council for the 2026-2031 term, 11 individuals do not fall within the structure specified by Resolution 50, and are thus proposed for dismissal.

"The dismissals do not stem from any violations or shortcomings by the personnel, nor do they simultaneously alter the leadership positions these individuals currently hold in their respective agencies or units," the proposal stated.

The 11 individuals proposed for dismissal from their People's Committee membership are: Tran Duc Hoat, Chief Inspector of the City; Nguyen Phi Thuong, Director of the Department of Construction; Vo Nguyen Phong, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade; Le Thanh Nam, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment; Pham Tuan Long, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports; Nguyen Trong Ky Anh, Director of the Department of Planning and Architecture; Nguyen Van Hien, Director of the Department of Education and Training; Nguyen Trong Dien, Director of the Department of Health; Nguyen Sy Truong, Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religion; Cu Ngoc Trang, Director of the Department of Science and Technology; and Dang Huong Giang, Director of the Department of Tourism.

The City People's Council is expected to consider and approve the resolution at its 6th session (a specialized session) on 10/8.
