The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee recently assigned the Department of Finance to collaborate with relevant parties to prepare for the project's implementation, following the city council's approval of the adjusted investment plan at its meeting in late August.
The road will run from Le Van Khuong to Ha Huy Giap Street in Thoi An ward (formerly District 12), crossing the Da Han Bridge and connecting to a 200-meter section of Le Thi Rieng Street, which will be widened to 30 meters for infrastructure synchronization. Construction is expected to begin in late 2026 and be completed within a year.

The city approved the project in 2016, but site clearance issues delayed its implementation. After adjusting the scale and scope of compensation, the city plans to acquire land from 299 households, with 222 households requiring complete relocation.
According to the Department of Construction, the road will serve as a new traffic artery, relieving pressure on National Highway 1 between the Binh Phuoc intersection and the Ga intersection. It will also contribute to urban renewal and stimulate socioeconomic development in the northwestern gateway.
In addition to this project, Ho Chi Minh City recently broke ground on the Nga Tu Dinh intersection (formerly District 12) and is preparing to widen National Highway 22 from the An Suong intersection to Ring Road 3 to 10 lanes, further enhancing the area's transportation network and connectivity with Tay Ninh.
