On 13/1, the Thuan Hoa Ward People's Committee announced a new regulation prohibiting stopping, parking, and vending on sidewalks. This measure, implemented in coordination with the Public Service Center and Ward Police, aims to enhance urban aesthetics and improve traffic safety in the central Hue City area. Ward leaders highlighted that these sidewalk sections have frequently been misused for parking and commercial activities, leading to visual degradation and potential hazards.
The ban, which is enforced all day without time restrictions, covers specific sidewalk areas. These include: the right side of extended Hai Ba Trung street, from gate 2 of Hue Central Hospital to Ngo Quyen street; the right side of Tran Cao Van street, from Ha Noi street to Hai Ba Trung street; Le Loi street, from Toa Kham boat station to Nguyen Dinh Chieu park's welcome gate and from Phu Xuan bridge to Hue City People's Committee headquarters; Ha Noi street, in front of Kim Dong park; and the intersection of Doan Huu Trung - Nguyen Truong To, in front of Phu Cam church.

To accommodate residents, officials have identified paid parking lots near the newly prohibited zones. These options include the Kim Dong park parking lot, conveniently located adjacent to Hai Ba Trung, Tran Cao Van, and Ha Noi streets. Additionally, a parking facility, managed by the Green Park Center, is available on Le Loi street, situated over 200 meters from Hai Ba Trung, Ha Noi, and Tran Cao Van streets. Further parking is also accessible at Toa Kham boat station and other Green Park Center locations along Le Loi street.

Prior to imposing penalties, Thuan Hoa ward will conduct extensive public awareness campaigns, reminding and guiding residents and businesses on the new regulations. This initiative aims to help them proactively arrange their vehicles and vending activities. Enforcement will begin after 20/1, with deliberate violations subject to legal action. For decades, residents were allowed to stop and park vehicles on central Hue City sidewalks, provided the vehicles faced the street. Previous instances of non-compliance resulted in warnings or fines.
