The expressway section will be open from 7/2 (the 20th day of the twelfth lunar month) until the end of 1/3 (the 13th day of the first lunar month).
Vehicles will be rerouted for one-way traffic on the Bac Giang - Lang Son expressway to km45+130, then proceed directly onto the new road towards Huu Nghi border gate. The exit point is at IC03 interchange, connecting to National Highway 4B, in Ky Lua ward, Lang Son.
Permitted vehicles include: passenger cars, tourist vehicles, and trucks under 10 tons, with a maximum speed of 60 km/h on the section. In areas with temporary toll booths and uncompleted road construction, drivers are allowed a maximum speed of 40 km/h.
Truong Duc Lien, deputy general director of Huu Nghi - Chi Lang Expressway Joint Stock Company, stated that the temporary opening aims to alleviate traffic pressure on National Highway 1 and meet the increased travel demand of people during the Tet holiday.

Along the route, temporary traffic signaling systems are fully installed, including: speed limit signs, rerouting guide signs, and speed restriction signs at entry and exit points. Soft barriers are placed at construction sites that are still being completed.
The Huu Nghi - Chi Lang expressway is nearly 60 km long, passing through 7 communes and wards in Lang Son province, with a total investment of 11,808 billion dong. It runs parallel to National Highway 1. The project commenced on 21/4/2024, connecting three international border gates: Huu Nghi, Coc Nam, and Tan Thanh.
The project was opened to traffic on 19/12/2025. The main road surface is expected to be completed in April this year, with full operation possible from October, three months ahead of schedule.
