Truck carrying flour catches fire on Lo Xo Pass

A tractor-trailer carrying flour unexpectedly caught fire while traveling on Lo Xo Pass, through Dak Plo commune, resulting in the front of the vehicle burning completely on the afternoon of 9/2.

Around 4 PM, Pham Van Sam, 40, from Thi Nai ward, Gia Lai province, was driving a tractor-trailer on Ho Chi Minh road, heading from Quang Ngai to Da Nang. As he navigated Lo Xo Pass, the vehicle suddenly ignited. Upon realizing the fire, the driver quickly pulled the truck to the roadside.

The flames quickly intensified, engulfing the truck's front section. Local authorities, in coordination with the Ngoc Hoi Traffic Police Station (Traffic Police Department of Quang Ngai Provincial Police), mobilized firefighters and helped salvage the cargo.

Nguyen Van Vinh, Chairman of Dak Plo Commune People's Committee, reported that while there were no human casualties, the tractor-trailer's front section was completely destroyed, and some of the flour cargo sustained damage.

By approximately 6:30 PM, the fire was largely brought under control. Authorities continued to assist the driver in unloading the cargo to ensure traffic safety. The cause of the incident is currently under investigation.
