The Minh Long Communal Military Command in Quang Ngai province secured and collected various post-war weapons after residents discovered them during rice and acacia cultivation. Among the findings was a 50 kg bomb, whose type remains unidentified but is considered highly destructive.

The Duc Pho Area 5 Defense Command dispatched technical officers to enhance safety at the site. Following an approved procedure, the ordnance was carefully carried by pole, then placed into foam boxes filled with fine sand to prevent impact. Subsequently, vehicles transported the items to a designated collection point, where they await destruction.
Quang Ngai is a province significantly affected by unexploded ordnance remaining from the war. The most recent incident occurred in 9/2025, when an environmental worker in Nghia Hanh commune discovered a 105 mm artillery shell while clearing trees.
