According to the company, the fire, which started on the morning of 10/5 and lasted over one day, destroyed several buildings, assets, equipment, and raw materials. A total of 1,350 workers are affected and face the risk of job loss. The company is currently focusing on cleanup and damage assessment.
Uniwin Vietnam is also developing plans to reduce production, rebuild the factory, and prioritize retaining some workers by relocating them to other branches. If alternative employment cannot be arranged, the company will follow legal procedures for worker termination.
Mai Xuan Tan, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Department of Home Affairs, urged the company to urgently compile statistics of affected workers. This data is crucial for coordinating the implementation of support policies, including unemployment insurance and other insurance benefits for employees.
Tan stated that authorities will connect affected workers with businesses in neighboring industrial parks to introduce new job opportunities, helping them stabilize their lives quickly.
Leaders of the Dong Nai Labor Federation announced that following the fire, a delegation was sent to the company to assess the workers' situation. This assessment will inform plans to provide support and protect the rights of the employees.
