Typhoon Maysak passed through the waters of Bach Long Vy at noon on 4/7, bringing heavy rain, level 9 winds, and level 10 gusts to the special zone. While impacting coastal areas of Hai Phong and Quang Ninh, authorities reported no damage to people or property.
In Hai Phong's coastal areas, including Do Son ward and Cat Ba special zone, level 6 winds with level 8 gusts and rain were observed. To ensure public safety, authorities banned recreational activities and swimming. However, coastal businesses continued operations as usual. Tran Khac Dat, 34, from Do Son district, explained that the typhoon's distance and low tide meant no large waves, so businesses did not need to reinforce or close.

Meanwhile, in Quang Ninh province's Co To special zone, meteorological agencies reported level 7 winds, level 9 gusts, and waves reaching 2,25 m at noon today. Evacuation and safety of tourists were a top priority; authorities moved 3.147 people to the mainland and guided 2.011 remaining guests on safety protocols. All recreational activities on and near the sea were suspended. From early morning, local personnel trimmed trees and reinforced critical structures.

Mong Cai experienced heavy rain from early morning. Typhoon Maysak is expected to reach the waters of Vinh Thuc island by 17:00 this afternoon. Civil Defense Steering Committees for Mong Cai wards one, two, and three have surveyed areas prone to flooding and landslides. Response teams are on 24-hour duty to address any incidents. Currently, typhoon Maysak is over 140 km from Mong Cai, moving northwest at about 15 km/h.
