Passenger bus burns to frame on national highway 1

A passenger bus traveling on national highway 1 through Tu Bong commune unexpectedly caught fire on the afternoon of 11/4, with many passengers escaping in time.

Around 2 PM, a passenger bus traveling from Dak Lak towards Nha Trang began emitting thick smoke from its body upon reaching Ninh Lam village, Tu Bong commune.

The driver immediately pulled the bus to the side of the road, alerted passengers to grab their belongings and evacuate, and tried to put out the fire with an extinguisher, but was unsuccessful. The rapidly spreading fire caused many vehicles traveling in the same direction to stop at a distance, leading to a traffic jam extending for about 1 km.

The Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Police Department (PCCC and CNCH) of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police dispatched two fire trucks and dozens of officers to the scene.

By 3:30 PM, the fire was brought under control. The passenger bus was completely gutted, reduced to its frame; many belongings inside were totally destroyed. Authorities secured the scene and managed traffic flow through the area.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
