Deputy Director General of the Vietnam Road Administration, Ngo Lam, inspected several rest stop projects on September 18th. He found that two stations, Nghi Son - Dien Chau and Dien Chau - Bai Vot (Thanh Hoa - Ha Tinh), invested in by the Petrolimex Consortium, were "slow and not meeting requirements". Mr. Lam urged the investor to finalize design approvals and increase manpower and equipment to accelerate construction of public service facilities.
Meanwhile, the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang and Vung Ang - Bung stations (Ha Tinh - Quang Tri), invested in by the Xuan Khiem Group, are progressing more positively. The Road Administration requested the prompt completion of restrooms, parking areas, and access roads to open the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang station in early October and the Vung Ang - Bung station in early November.

The deputy director emphasized that all facilities must be fully completed and ensure traffic safety before operation. Contractors must adhere to environmental and traffic safety regulations throughout the construction process.
The Ministry of Transport is constructing 8 rest stops on 7 component projects of the north-south expressway, phase 1 (2017-2021), and 10 rest stops on phase 2 projects (2022-2025). Due to budget constraints, these stations were separated for private investment and are expected to be completed and operational by the end of 2025.
