The Khanh Hoa Provincial Project Management Board for Agricultural and Transport Construction Investment has proposed a nearly 2,000 billion VND project for a D25 road combined with the Vinh Trung flood drainage canal. This initiative aims to reduce severe flooding in west Nha Trang and its vicinity, particularly after the devastating mid-november floods.
On 13/12, the board submitted an appraisal report outlining the investment policy for the project. It is planned for implementation in Tay Nha Trang ward and Dien Dien commune, areas severely impacted by recent deluges.

The proposed infrastructure includes a new road integrated with a flood drainage canal. This design seeks to boost water drainage capacity, thereby lowering flood risks for the city's western region and adjacent areas, while also completing approved infrastructure plans. Construction is slated to begin in 2026 and conclude in about two years.
This proposal follows severe mid-november floods in Khanh Hoa, which claimed 22 lives and damaged over 1,000 homes. The floods also devastated numerous roads, crops, and essential infrastructure, with total estimated damages exceeding 5,000 billion VND.
Among the hardest-hit localities were Tay Nha Trang ward and Dien Dien commune, underscoring the urgent need for enhanced flood protection measures.
