Railway employee killed by train

A male track patrol employee died after being hit by a cargo train on the North-South railway line in Ham Kiem commune on the morning of 1/5.

Le Dinh Hung, 32, a track patrol employee for Saigon Railway Company, was struck and killed by cargo train HH7 around 5 AM on 1/5.

The incident occurred while Hung was inspecting the Suoi Van - Ham Cuong section of the North-South railway line in Ham Kiem commune, Binh Thuan. Train HH7, operated by Vu Van Quang of Saigon Locomotive Enterprise, was traveling from Nha Trang station to Saigon station when it hit Hung, who died instantly.

Following the accident, the train stopped for approximately 30 minutes. Suoi Van station management documented the scene and filed a report before train HH7 resumed its journey. Railway services continued without interruption.

Lam Dong provincial police are coordinating the investigation into the cause of the accident.

This marks the second fatal incident involving a track patrol employee in the area recently. On 7/2, an SE2 train struck and killed one employee about 15 km south of the current accident site.
