On 8/7 in Dong Trach commune, Quang Tri province, Hope Foundation and FPT Corporation held a handover ceremony for five newly completed sanitation facilities, with the participation of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Trade Union.
These facilities were handed over to Dong Trach Secondary School, Ly Trach Secondary School, Nhan Trach No. 1 Secondary School, and Nhan Trach Primary and Secondary School, with a total sponsorship of 247 million VND.
These are the first five out of a total of 15 school sanitation facilities being renovated across Hoan Lao, Nam Trach, Bo Trach, Bac Trach, and Dong Trach communes, with a total budget exceeding 708 million VND. The remaining 10 facilities are scheduled for completion before the new academic year.

Schools in the area still use restrooms built between 2005 and 2010. After years of use, many components have severely deteriorated, with moldy, peeling walls, cracked floor tiles, damaged roofs and doors, and unusable sanitation fixtures. The water supply and drainage systems are degraded, and septic tanks are clogged, leading to wastewater stagnation. This significantly impacts hygiene, health, and the daily activities of students and teachers.
"The facilities have deteriorated after many years of use, especially the sanitation systems. Though a small item, it directly affects the health, psychology, and daily lives of both teachers and students," said Ms. Tran Thi Hong Quang, Principal of Dong Trach Secondary School.

To improve learning conditions for students, Hope Foundation is implementing comprehensive renovations tailored to each school's current state, supported by the FPT for Community Fund – FPT Corporation. Renovation items include: interior and exterior wall painting, waterproofing and crack treatment, replacement of doors, roofs, floor tiles, and sanitation fixtures, repair of water supply and drainage systems, septic tank treatment, replacement of electrical systems, partitions, and other auxiliary components. Once completed, the restrooms will be spacious and clean, meeting the needs for safe and convenient use by students and teachers.
During the handover, the FPT for Community Fund also presented Dong Trach Secondary School with one 55-inch tivi, two printers, three sliding boards, and 275 gifts for students.
"Today's gifts were made possible by the contribution of one day's salary from the company's staff and employees. All 15 facilities will be completed before the new academic year. We hope this will contribute to a better learning environment for the children," stated Ms. Tran Thi Thu Ha, Chairwoman of FPT Corporation's Trade Union and Director of the FPT for Community Fund.
