The affected stretch of road extends from the intersection of Cau Dat - Hai Ba Trung to the intersection of Cau Dat - Nguyen Duc Canh. The closure is scheduled from 6h to 11h on 4/9.

Cau Dat is one of the busiest and most bustling streets in central Hai Phong City, home to numerous shops selling gold, silver, confectionery, and clothing. The bomb was found at what was once a well-known gold shop.

During excavation for a house at 96 Cau Dat, the construction unit discovered an unknown object and reported it to authorities. Following an inspection, the Hai Phong City Military Command confirmed it was an unexploded bomb from the war. They have since planned its recovery, transport, and detonation. The type and size of the bomb have not yet been disclosed.

During the war, Hai Phong was a primary target for US air and naval forces. Bombing intensified in april 1972 and during the 12-day strategic air campaign in late december 1972, when B-52s and other modern US aircraft continuously dropped bombs, devastating many residential areas, ports, and factories in Hai Phong.
