In addition to the certificate of merit and letter of commendation from Director Le Thi Thanh Xuan, Khang also received rewards and financial support from teachers, organizations, and individuals at the school.
In the early morning of 13/9, Nguyen Nam Dai Thuan (also known as Hao Dien, 37, residing in Ea Kao ward) broke into the house of his ex-wife Nguyen Thi Kim Hoa (33, residing in Thanh Nhat ward) and killed several people. Hoa's son, Nguyen Tan Phat (13), was seriously injured but managed to climb over the wall to Khang's house for help.
Khang opened the door, helped Phat into his bed, locked the door, gave him water, and reassured him. At 3 a.m., when the police arrived, he opened the door to allow Phat to be taken to the hospital. Thanks to Khang's quick thinking, Phat survived.
