Teenager electrocuted on 35 kV power line

Tran Quoc Khanh, 16, was found dead, his body caught on a 35kV power line in Van Kieu commune, Nghe An province, on the morning of 22/4, suspected to have been electrocuted while attempting to catch birds.

Tran Van Sao, Chairman of Van Kieu commune, stated that authorities are coordinating with the power company to cut electricity and deploy a crane to the scene to retrieve the victim's body for family burial.

According to the commune chairman, when Khanh was discovered, he was wearing protective gear, his body suspended on the power line. The incident occurred on a 35kV medium-voltage power line, over 12 meters high, located in Van Kieu commune (formerly part of Nghi Loc district).

Relatives stated that this morning, Khanh was wearing protective gear and carrying a ladder, intending to catch birds. Authorities believe that while climbing the power pole with the ladder to catch birds, Khanh accidentally touched the power line, leading to the fatal incident.
