The incident unfolded yesterday afternoon when a 37-year-old man from Tan Binh village took his two children and one nephew to swim near the Da Dang 1 bridge. Moments after they entered the water, a sudden surge of water from the upstream river swept through the area. The man quickly brought one child to safety on the riverbank.
Upon returning to rescue his 16-year-old son and 14-year-old nephew, who were caught in the middle of the powerful current, all three were tragically swept away. According to local authorities, this particular spot has been the site of multiple previous drowning incidents, and warning signs had been placed to caution swimmers about the dangers.
