Around 5 p.m., dark clouds covered many areas of Phan Thiet City, followed by strong winds and heavy rain.
In Ham Thang ward, the corrugated iron roofs of two offices at the ward People's Committee headquarters were blown away. A public official was hit by a falling iron bar and taken to the provincial hospital for observation. Many nearby homes also had their roofs ripped off, with corrugated iron sheets scattering onto the road, obstructing traffic.

Tran Ngoc Hien, Chairman of Ham Thang ward People's Committee, said ward forces are assisting residents in overcoming the damage.
In Phan Thiet ward, strong winds toppled a wedding marquee near Thuong Chanh beach. At the time of the incident, guests had not yet arrived for the party, so no one was injured.

In Phu Thuy ward, nearly 10 homes had their roofs ripped off, and some structures collapsed. One person was crushed by a falling house wall and taken to the emergency room by residents. Many trees and streetlights also fell, causing localized power outages.
Functional forces and electricity staff later cleared trees and corrugated iron roofs, and fixed the issues. Roads have since reopened to traffic.

In addition to the three wards, heavy rain accompanied by lightning also occurred in Ham Liem and Hong Son communes and some surrounding areas. Hong Son commune specifically reported hail. By 8 p.m., rain continued in some locations.
Authorities in Lam Dong province are currently assessing the damage.
