Traffic police deploy "undercover vehicles" to record violations on HCMC - Can Tho expressway

Traffic police will use more than 10 civilian vehicles, equipped with modern devices, to capture footage of violations on the HCMC - Trung Luong - My Thuan - Can Tho expressway.

On 19/3, a representative from the Department of Traffic Police (CSGT, Ministry of Public Security) announced that Highway Traffic Police Team No. 7, under Room 6, has deployed more than 10 undercover vehicles to record traffic violations on the HCMC - Trung Luong - My Thuan - Can Tho expressway. These undercover vehicles are civilian cars fitted with recording equipment.

The primary offenses targeted include illegal stopping or parking, speeding, improper lane changes, driving on the emergency lane, changing lanes without signaling, and not staying in the correct lane.

Highway Traffic Police Team No. 7 has mobilized its full force, organizing 24/24 hour patrols. They are flexibly combining overt and covert operations, utilizing modern technical equipment to directly record violations, extract data from surveillance camera systems, and receive, verify, and process information reported by the public.

Over 17-18/3, Highway Traffic Police Team No. 7 processed nearly 40 violations. These included 15 vehicles for speeding and 6 for illegal stopping or parking. Such actions are dangerous and pose a high risk of traffic accidents, especially on expressways with heavy traffic and high speeds.

The HCMC - Can Tho expressway serves as a key artery connecting TP HCM with provinces in the Mekong Delta. It encompasses the Ben Luc - Trung Luong, Trung Luong - My Thuan, My Thuan 2 Bridge, and My Thuan - Can Tho sections, with a total length exceeding 120 km.
