Noi Bai climbs in top 100 best airports worldwide

Noi Bai International Airport ascended eight ranks in the top 100 and entered the top 10 best airports globally for the 30-40 million passenger capacity group for the first time, according to Skytrax.

The international aviation organization Skytrax recently announced the results of its 2026 world airport rankings. Accordingly, Noi Bai rose to the 71st position, an increase of eight ranks compared to its 79th position in 2025.

Additionally, Noi Bai appeared in the top 10 best airports worldwide within the 30 to 40 million passenger capacity group. This top list also includes airports such as Riyadh (Arab Saudi), Vienna (Austria), Zurich (Switzerland), and Melbourne (Australia).

Skytrax ranked Da Nang International Airport in 75th position, an increase of nine ranks from the previous year.

A representative from Noi Bai International Airport attributed the 2026 ranking improvement to infrastructure developments. The airport focused on renovating and expanding the check-in areas at both passenger terminals, optimizing space and increasing operational capacity to ensure smooth operations even during peak periods.

The airport also invested in a comprehensive upgrade of its smart equipment systems. From check-in and security screening areas to baggage conveyor systems, all are integrated with modern technologies to reduce waiting times and provide maximum convenience for passengers.

Noi Bai also scored points for its comprehensive digital transformation strategy. The implementation of the airport collaborative decision making (A-CDM) model enhanced air traffic control efficiency, helping airlines save fuel, improve on-time performance, and reduce environmental emissions.

Skytrax, founded in 1989 and headquartered in London, is a professional assessment organization in the global aviation market. It provides consulting and evaluates the quality of products and services for airlines and airports worldwide. Skytrax conducts its independent rankings based on passenger surveys at 555 global airports through its website and international terminals.
