Traffic police use unmarked cars to fine nearly 100 vehicles for violations on expressways

Traffic police on expressways from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang used civilian cars equipped with recording devices to detect and fine 98 vehicles for violations within 24 hours, with total fines exceeding 500 million VND.

According to Traffic Police Team No. 6 for Expressways (Traffic Police Department, Ministry of Public Security), violations were recorded from 3-4/4.

Patrol forces used unmarked cars, equipped with specialized recording devices, to detect violations such as changing lanes without signaling, speeding, and stopping or parking without proper warning signs.

The inspected expressways include Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay, Dau Giay - Phan Thiet, Phan Thiet - Vinh Hao, Vinh Hao - Cam Lam, Cam Lam - Nha Trang, and Van Phong - Nha Trang.

A representative from the Traffic Police Department stated that since late March, the unit has deployed unmarked cars to directly record violations and extract data from camera systems as a basis for penalties on expressways from Ca Mau to Nha Trang. Unmarked cars are civilian vehicles equipped with specialized recording devices.

This measure aims to improve traffic law compliance and reduce behaviors that pose accident risks, especially on expressways with heavy traffic and high speeds.
