Due to the impact of Typhoon Wipha in China, Vietnam Airlines announced the cancellation of 4 flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong: VN1188, VN7188, VN7189, VN7056, and VN7057. Flights VN1856 and VN1857 between Ho Chi Minh City and Con Dao were also cancelled on 21/7.
Pacific Airlines has rescheduled flights BL6440 and BL6441 between Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong to depart earlier than planned to ensure take-off and landing at Cat Bi Airport (Hai Phong) before noon. The airline also cancelled flights BL6520 and BL6521 on this route for the day.
On 22/7, Vietnam Airlines Group flights operating at Cat Bi Airport will depart after noon. Additionally, several domestic and international flights on 21/7 and 22/7 will be affected by the ripple effects of Typhoon Wipha.

Airlines advise that flight schedules may be further adjusted depending on the typhoon's path, and passengers should check with their airlines for updates. Passengers are advised to keep their seatbelts fastened throughout their flights, especially during periods of inclement weather, to minimize risks during turbulence.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has requested all units in the industry to implement response measures to ensure absolute safety for aviation operations and passengers, with 24/7 monitoring in place.
Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) and Van Don Airport have been asked to conduct comprehensive inspections of airport infrastructure and communication systems to promptly detect and address any damage, ensuring the safety of facilities and stations.
At 6 a.m. on 21/7, the typhoon's center was located approximately 233 km east of Quang Ninh - Hai Phong, with maximum sustained winds of level 9, gusting to level 11, moving west-southwest at a speed of 15-20 km/h.
By 7 p.m. on 21/7, the typhoon is forecast to be in the northern part of the Gulf of Tonkin, with maximum sustained winds of level 11-12, gusting to level 15, and moving west-southwest at 20-25 km/h. By 7 p.m. on 22/7, the typhoon is expected to weaken to level 9-10, gusting to level 12, over the coastal areas of Hai Phong - Thanh Hoa, before moving further inland and weakening into a tropical depression.
At 6 a.m. on 21/7, Cat Bi Airport experienced light rain and fog, with visibility at 2.5 km. Van Don Airport (Quang Ninh) had heavy rain and visibility at 2.5 km, while Tho Xuan Airport (Thanh Hoa) experienced light wind and rain.
