Victim rescued from laundry shop fire

A fire erupted at a laundry shop on Nguyen Ai Quoc street, Tam Hiep ward, spreading to an adjacent house, prompting police to promptly rescue a trapped individual on the evening of 11/1.

Around 7 p.m., the owner of a combined laundry and residential building discovered flames emanating from the staircase and raised the alarm. Employees from neighboring shops attempted to extinguish the fire with portable extinguishers, but their efforts proved ineffective due to the abundance of flammable clothing and fabrics inside.

"The fire erupted fiercely with multiple explosions; I used a small extinguisher but could not control it, so I had to evacuate", a nearby store employee recounted.

The owner, who had been on the upper floor, ran downstairs to escape, sustaining burns to their hand. Within about 10 minutes, the blaze consumed the entire two-story building and extended to the adjacent printing shop.

Firefighting and prevention police deployed numerous specialized vehicles and dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene. Rescuers, clad in fire-resistant protective gear, accessed the second floor to search for any trapped individuals.
