This year, the National Press Awards received 1,752 entries. Following two rounds of preliminary and final judging, the council selected 123 outstanding works to present: 11 A prizes, 26 B prizes, 50 C prizes, and 36 consolation prizes.
Le Quoc Minh, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists' Association, noted that after 20 seasons, the National Press Awards has become the most prestigious professional award for journalists nationwide. It acknowledges the contributions and continuous innovation of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism.
According to Minh, this year's entries embodied a spirit of constructive and humanitarian journalism, vividly reflecting major national changes during the reform and development process. Many works focused on issues of public concern, such as the streamlining of organizational structures, administrative unit rearrangements, the implementation of a two-tier local government model, preparations for the 14th Party Congress, and administrative reform. Additionally, there were investigative pieces combating negativity, reflecting societal downsides, and promoting positive community values.
Among the 11 A prizes awarded were: "Exposing the 'Suffocating' Green Forest Ring" by Nong thon Ngay nay Newspaper; "Operating Two-Tier Local Government: Innovating Governance Models, Building a Public Servant Apparatus for the People" by Ha Noi Moi Newspaper; "Decoding Online Kidnapping Tricks" by Ho Chi Minh City Radio and Television Station; "Journey to Unification" by Vietnam Television; and the investigative series "Magically Floating Vegetables into School Meals" by Dan Viet E-newspaper.
Speaking at the ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man recognized the contributions of journalists nationwide, especially the honored authors and author groups.
He emphasized that journalists must always uphold the core values of revolutionary journalism, prioritizing national interests above all else. They must also continuously enhance their political resolve, professional ethics, expertise, and technological capabilities to meet the demands of the modern media environment.
Citing President Ho Chi Minh's call for concise, understandable, and readable writing, the National Assembly Chairman urged every journalist to always ask: who are they writing for, what is the purpose of their writing, and how should they write to ensure their work reaches a broad public.
