From march to may, the Vietnam Road Administration reported 110 instances of motorcycles traveling on sections of the North-South Expressway, specifically from Mai Son (Ninh Binh) to Nghi Son (Thanh Hoa). This situation presents a serious risk of traffic accidents.
The administration stated that many cars on the expressway had to brake suddenly when encountering motorcycles on restricted roads, increasing the risk of rear-end collisions.
The Vietnam Road Administration urged localities along the expressway to enhance traffic law awareness campaigns. It also called for regular patrols, inspections, and strict penalties for motorcycles illegally using the expressway.
Road users are also advised to strictly obey road signs and avoid putting themselves and others in dangerous situations.

Since may, the Vietnam Road Administration began collecting tolls on 5 state-invested expressway routes: Mai Son - National Highway 45, National Highway 45 - Nghi Son, Nghi Son - Dien Chau, Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet, and Phan Thiet - Dau Giay.
The administration reported that these expressway routes have recorded approximately 9,7 million vehicle trips, generating over 944 billion dong in revenue for the state budget.
