Around 0h40, a fire erupted at a woodworking warehouse situated at the end of Pham Tu street, opposite K Hospital Tan Trieu, in Thanh Liet ward.
Due to the presence of many flammable materials inside, the fire quickly engulfed the entire factory, creating a smoke plume dozens of meters high.

The intense heat from the blaze was clearly felt by some nearby tenants, forcing them to evacuate their rented rooms. A strong burning smell permeated the air.
Trinh Anh Thu, a tenant, reported smelling something burning and saw the fire raging when she went outside. "I was terrified; I only managed to grab a few essential items and my motorbike before fleeing", Thu said.
At least 6 fire trucks and dozens of firefighters were dispatched to the scene.
To extinguish the fire, police used high-power lights for illumination and continuously sprayed water from multiple directions to prevent it from spreading. Excavators were also mobilized to break through the surrounding corrugated iron sheeting to aid firefighting efforts.
By 5h, firefighters were still battling the blaze. Many sections of the factory had already collapsed.
