According to Transfermarkt, a leading global platform for player statistics and valuations, the 26 players selected for France's 2026 World Cup squad have a combined market value of 1,76 billion USD. Captain Kylian Mbappe is the most expensive player from the 2022 World Cup runners-up, valued at 230 million USD.
Despite not winning any major trophies in his two seasons with Real Madrid, the French forward maintained significant individual performance, scoring 86 goals in 103 matches. He consecutively won two La Liga top scorer titles and was the Champions League top scorer last season.

England ranks second with a total squad value of 1,51 billion USD. Their three most expensive players are Jude Bellingham (161 million USD), Declan Rice, and Bukayo Saka (both 138 million USD).
Spain secures the third position with 1,45 billion USD. The two most valuable players from the Euro 2024 champions both come from Barca: Lamine Yamal (230 million USD) and Pedri (173 million USD).
The next three spots in the top 6 are occupied by teams whose values exceed one billion USD: Portugal (1,18 billion USD), Germany (1,15 billion USD), and Brazil (1,05 billion USD).
The 2022 World Cup champions, Argentina, are only eighth with 942 million USD. Most Argentine players have seen their market values decrease over the past four years. The two most valuable players for the defending champions are Julian Alvarez (115 million USD) and Enzo Fernandez (104 million USD). Lionel Messi remains the heart of the "Tango" team, but at 38 years old, his form and physical condition have declined, leading to a lower transfer value.
The remaining two teams in the top 10 are Norway and Belgium, with values of 693 million USD and 626 million USD, respectively. Similar to Spain's Yamal and France's Mbappe, Norway's star Erling Haaland is valued at 230 million USD.
The 2026 World Cup will take place from 11/6 to 19/7 across the US, Canada, and Mexico. 48 participating teams will be divided into 12 groups. The top two teams from each group and the eight best third-placed teams will advance to the round of 16, where the knockout stage begins.
