Garmin Run Vietnam 2026 returns with expanded scale

Garmin Run Vietnam 2026 is set to return to Ho Chi Minh City with an expanded scope, anticipating 8,500 runners, new competitive categories, and a series of experiential activities for the community.

Garmin announced the return of the Garmin Run Marathon Series 2026 to Vietnam, aiming to further connect the running community and encourage active lifestyles. The event, which began in 2022, is now held in several Asian locations, including Vietnam, Indonesia, Taiwan, Singapore, South Korea, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Japan. In 2026, the series will expand globally, making its debut in the United States.

Following the 2025 event that saw nearly 6,000 participants, Garmin Run Vietnam 2026 is scheduled for 17-18/10/2026 at Sala Urban Area in An Khanh ward, Ho Chi Minh City. The event expects to host approximately 8,500 athletes. This year's edition will maintain the 5, 10, and 21km race distances. In addition to the 10km Couple Run, a new 5km Couple Run category has been added, designed for pairs and groups of friends to enhance the experience for recreational runners and new participants.

According to Ivan Lai, Regional Director of Garmin Vietnam, the growth of the running movement reflects a trend of users increasingly prioritizing health and quality of life. The company hopes that through the race and its technology ecosystem, it can contribute to fostering sustainable exercise habits. "With Garmin Run, we aim to continue promoting a culture of movement, inspiring more people to start their own journey, and connecting the growing running community in Vietnam," he stated.

The race will again be held in the Sala area, a familiar route for the Ho Chi Minh City running community, known for its flat terrain, minimal turns, and green spaces. The organizers plan to adjust certain aspects of the race course and event area to optimize the competitive experience.

Beyond the professional competition, Garmin Run Vietnam 2026 will continue as a sports festival model, offering interactive activities for participants. These include experiencing new smartwatches and technology, a post-race recovery zone, a community interaction area, and opportunities for personalizing event items. The race kit, medals, and technology experience zone will also be upgraded. Participants can meet guest athletes, representatives from the running community, and figures active in the sports field.

Leading up to the event, the Garmin Run Club will host a "Road To Garmin" training series in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. This series will provide training plans and guidance from professional coaches to help participants prepare physically and technically.

According to the schedule, Super Early Bird tickets for Garmin Run Vietnam 2026 will go on sale from 20-26/5/2026, available on the official website and through partner systems. The organizers advise participants to follow information from official channels to avoid fraud or scams.

Additionally, the brand announced it would continue its partnership with the VnExpress Marathon running event ecosystem in 2026, including VnExpress Marathon Da Nang, to further expand its connection with the running community.
