At Emirates Stadium, Arsenal faced a potential second consecutive defeat after James Justin opened the scoring for Leeds in the 55th minute. However, two goals from Riccardo Calafiori and Guimaraes in less than 10 minutes reversed the situation for the reigning champions, ending the visitors' unbeaten run.
Arsenal now has 15 points from six matches, level with Man City but trailing on goal difference. The league leaders will visit Liverpool on 11/10.

The turning point came immediately after Calafiori's equalizer, as Mikel Arteta made a triple substitution, bringing Guimaraes onto the pitch. The Brazilian midfielder, signed for approximately 100 million USD this summer, immediately accelerated ball circulation, engaged in fierce tackles, and encouraged his teammates to play more directly.
The decisive goal clearly demonstrated this shift. Bukayo Saka moved to the left wing, playing a one-two with Martin Odegaard. The Arsenal captain passed short to Declan Rice inside the penalty area, who then backheeled it with one touch to the edge of the box. Guimaraes received the ball there and placed it into the corner of the net, completing the comeback.
This victory alleviated pressure on Arsenal after a three-week international break. Previously, they began their title defense with four consecutive wins, conceding only one goal, before an unexpected 0-3 loss to Brighton. The Leeds match highlighted that Arteta's team still faces challenges, but their squad depth enabled them to overcome a difficult afternoon.
Arsenal started with six English players, a first since 1999. Arteta made four changes from the previous match, with Noni Madueke making an impression on the left wing. However, the home side's build-up play was intricate and lacked rhythm. They were caught offside four times in the first 16 minutes, with Ben White twice mistiming his runs against Leeds' well-organized defense.
Arsenal's most significant chance in the first half came from a Madueke cross. However, Kai Havertz's header was weak, going straight to goalkeeper James Trafford. This was also the home side's only shot on target before halftime.
Leeds created more dangerous situations due to their quick transitions and the mobility of wingers Jayden Bogle and Gabriel Gudmundsson. David Raya had to make saves against both, helping Arsenal maintain a 0-0 scoreline.
The visitors continued their dominance at the start of the second half and were rewarded in the 55th minute. Gudmundsson escaped White on the left wing and delivered a cross, allowing Justin to score the opening goal. Three minutes later, Noah Okafor nearly doubled the lead but couldn't connect with Bogle's pass in time.
Arsenal then escaped danger and equalized through a wide attack. Madueke delivered a deep cross to the far post, White headed the ball beyond Trafford's reach, and Calafiori immediately pounced to score his second Premier League goal this season.

The equalizer and Arteta's adjustments transformed the atmosphere at Emirates Stadium. After Guimaraes put Arsenal ahead 2-1, they could have extended their lead further. However, Odegaard missed a close-range opportunity from Rice's pass, and Saka failed to capitalize on a one-on-one situation with Trafford.
Leeds could not regain control of the match and suffered their first defeat of the season. Nevertheless, their performance at Emirates Stadium continued to demonstrate the progress of Daniel Farke's squad, following an initial five-match unbeaten run in England's top flight, a first since 2001.
