On 9/6, online travel platform Agoda announced a list of the cheapest domestic and international flights for summer. The list was compiled from actual bookings made between 1/3 and 19/5, for flights departing from 1/6 to 31/8.
The published prices include taxes and fees, representing the lowest fares recorded across eight Asian markets: India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, and Vietnam. Most of these prices apply to one-way tickets operated by low-cost airlines.
In the domestic market, the TP HCM - Tuy Hoa route leads with a price of approximately 627,000 dong. Following closely are the Da Nang - Ha Noi, TP HCM - Da Nang, and Tam Ky - TP HCM routes, all priced at about 653,000 dong. The TP HCM - Quy Nhon route is also featured at 679,000 dong.
Vu Ngoc Lam, Agoda's Country Director for Vietnam, noted that Tuy Hoa is an appealing choice for travelers seeking a beach vacation at an accessible cost.

In the international market, TP HCM - Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) is the top route with prices starting from 888,000 dong. Subsequent positions include TP HCM - Johor Bahru (Malaysia) at 1.17 million dong; TP HCM - Singapore at 1.22 million dong; Da Nang - Kuala Lumpur at 1.27 million dong; and TP HCM - Bangkok (Thailand) at 1.3 million dong.
Short trips to Southeast Asian countries remain a primary trend, driven by affordable costs and simple entry regulations. For the TP HCM - Kuala Lumpur route, travelers can experience city streets, enjoy beaches, visit old towns, and explore tropical forests a few hours' drive from the capital.
The recorded prices are based on actual bookings made on Agoda but may not apply to future bookings. At the time the survey concluded on 5/6, the exchange rate was approximately 26,000 dong for 1 USD.
After months of high prices, airfares for many domestic routes saw a 10-15% reduction from early june, as airlines expanded lower price tiers and boosted demand. Last year, many families and businesses planned their summer travel from late april; this year, demand emerged later due to high airfare prices in the initial months.
Due to weak purchasing power, by june, airlines reintroduced many low-fare options to stimulate demand.
