Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral, located in Cong Xa Paris Square, stands as a prominent religious landmark in Ho Chi Minh City. In early December, the cathedral grounds become a highlight, decorated with 1,000 km of LED string lights, double the amount from last year. The tiled roofs are adorned with motifs like globes, stars, and bells. Additionally, LED lights shaped like Christmas trees illuminate the two zinc towers. According to The Hien, the area around the cathedral remains bustling with young people checking in late into the night.
Tan Dinh Church, situated on Hai Ba Trung street in Tan Dinh ward, was built in 1876. Its architecture blends Gothic and Romanesque styles, notably distinguished by its pink hue, setting it apart from other churches in Ho Chi Minh City.

Enduring for centuries, the structure retains its original architecture, harmoniously blending ancient charm with modern touches. Many international visitors often include this site in their Ho Chi Minh City tours. For Christmas, the church is adorned with lighting systems and festive displays, creating a striking scene at night. The road in front of Tan Dinh Church is often busy with traffic; The Hien suggests visitors can choose cafes with church views to take photos and admire the structure as it lights up in the evening.
Cho Quan Church, located on Tran Binh Trong street in Cho Quan ward, is among the oldest churches in Ho Chi Minh City, linked to the history and development of the Cho Lon area. The structure features simple architecture and a quiet atmosphere, set apart from the surrounding bustle.

The area surrounding the church features old trees, creating a cool green space in the heart of the city. Visitors can combine their visit with exploring Chinese cuisine on nearby streets such as: Nguyen Tri Phuong, Nguyen Chi Thanh, or Nguyen Trai. This is an ideal place to stroll with friends and family and learn about ancient religious architecture within a modern urban setting, The Hien states.
Visitor information:
Evenings are the best time for the churches to be illuminated. Visitors should proactively research parking spots and safeguard personal belongings. When taking photos, maintain order, dress respectfully, and avoid blocking walkways or ceremonial areas. Additionally, limit flash photography, avoid making noise, and maintain general hygiene, especially during ceremonies.
