The An Giang Maritime Port Authority announced that all ferry services from Ha Tien and Rach Gia to Phu Quoc, Rach Gia to Nam Du, and their return routes, have been suspended until further notice. According to the An Giang Provincial Hydro-Meteorological Station, the An Giang sea area is experiencing unusually strong winds. This is due to an equatorial low-pressure trough combined with upper-level easterly wind disturbances. Winds are currently at levels 4-5, with gusts reaching levels 6-7, and wave heights are between 1,5 and 2,5 meters.
Phu Quoc, located in the southwest, is a popular destination, situated 120 km east of Rach Gia city and 45 km west of Ha Tien city. The island typically sees more than 30 high-speed ferry services daily from the mainland.
Passengers who have purchased tickets can contact the ferry operators for refunds or to reschedule their trips.
