The list of the world's best cities is based on a reader survey. Cities are selected based on criteria including impressive sights, quality hotels, vibrant cuisine, distinctive historical culture, and a unique atmosphere.
A livable city isn't just about bustling neighborhoods or unique cuisine, but also convenient transportation, green spaces, and an open environment. The "value for money" criterion is also emphasized, as many cities offer valuable experiences compared to the amount tourists spend.
This year’s survey saw Asia dominate with seven representatives in the top 10. Latin America also made its mark with the city topping the rankings and five other representatives. Many readers believe these destinations "have it all" and are worth visiting multiple times.
