Lung Cu Commune People's Committee announced a temporary halt for all passenger vehicles traveling to Lung Cu flagpole from 21/11 to 2/12. This measure is implemented to facilitate the 11th buckwheat flower festival.
The festival itself will run from 29/11 to 8/12, featuring various activities such as: buckwheat flower displays, art photography exhibitions, cultural exchanges between locals and visitors, and a buckwheat flower planting and shaping contest.
This restriction is crucial to prevent congestion and enhance safety at the Lung Cu flagpole area. Mr. Tran Duc Chung, Chairman of Lung Cu Commune People's Committee, noted that while Lung Cu commune already welcomes over 10,000 visitors weekly during peak buckwheat flower season, the festival is expected to draw even larger crowds. The road leading up to the flagpole is steep and narrow, with a small parking area, posing collision risks if a large volume of vehicles attempts to access it.
During the ban, visitors can use electric cars or local xe om (motorbike taxis) provided by Lung Cu commune. The restricted section spans approximately 600-700 m from the entrance of the road to the flagpole. A dedicated walking path is also available for those who prefer to explore on foot. Local authorities recommend that visitors park their vehicles at the border station and utilize these shuttle services for their visit.

To ensure a fair experience for tourists, Lung Cu Commune People's Committee has established inspection teams to monitor tourism service prices in popular areas, such as Lo Lo Chai village. This action follows reports of brokers selling accommodation at 3-4 times the listed price. On 21/11, the inspection team reminded all homestay businesses in Lo Lo Chai to publicly display their prices to prevent visitors from being overcharged.
