Every day from around 4 PM, hundreds of people flock to the "sunset slope" located at the foot of Co mountain in Phu Thuy ward, Binh Thuan province, to watch the sun set and take photos. Situated about 9 km from downtown Phan Thiet, the slope offers direct views of the sea, earning it the nickname "Mui Ne's sunset grandstand". Local resident Lu Duy Tuong confirms the spot is always bustling in the afternoon, especially on weekends.
The slope's popularity surged in 2024, driven by videos and images shared on social media. According to Thuan Nguyen, a tour guide specializing in the Ho Chi Minh City - Phan Thiet route, most tours to Mui Ne now include a 30-45 minute stop here between 4:30 PM and 5 PM, considered the time with the best light for photography.

Visitors often discover the location online. Le Hong Tram, 23, from Ho Chi Minh City, learned about the slope through social media and planned her Mui Ne trip to include a late-day visit. She noted, "You can capture the sea and the coconut forest below from anywhere on the slope. The view is so open that you practically just need to raise your phone to get a beautiful photo."
On 5/8, Nguyen Minh Quan from Dong Nai city visited with friends, calling the sunset slope the most anticipated stop on his Mui Ne trip. Arriving around 4 PM, he found the roadside areas already packed with vehicles and people. Despite having to park over one kilometer away and walk back, he found the "sunset view impressive and well worth the experience".

Numerous seasonal coffee shops and eateries operate around the slope, offering visitors a place to enjoy drinks, admire the sea, and await the sunset. The destination is also conveniently located on the route connecting Po Sah Inu tower and Lau Ong Hoang (Prince's Palace), allowing for combined visits to Phan Thiet's cultural and historical sites.
Visitors can reach the Sunset Slope by motorbike, car, or taxi via the route from downtown Phan Thiet to Ham Tien - Mui Ne. It is important to remember that while popular for photos, the sunset slope is a road with significant traffic. Visitors must park close to the curb or in designated areas and avoid standing in the road for photos to ensure traffic safety.
