Sun PhuQuoc Airways launches new route to Hong Kong

Sun PhuQuoc Airways operates its Phu Quoc - Hong Kong (China) route from 22/5 with five flights weekly, making it the airline's third international route after Taipei and Seoul.

Flight 9G502 departed from Phu Quoc International Airport at 11:55 and landed at Hong Kong International Airport at 15:45 (local time). On the return journey, the airline welcomed nearly 200 passengers from Hong Kong to Phu Quoc at 18:35.

On the inaugural day of operation, passengers arriving in Phu Quoc received a welcome at the airport and souvenir gifts featuring the sun symbol from the airline. Amanda Lee, a traveler from Hong Kong, expressed satisfaction with the flight's service quality. "The seats were new and clean, the cabin crew were attentive, and the food was delicious", she said.

Another traveler, Jason Lam, stated he chose the flight due to its convenient schedule and was impressed by the airline's consistent experience. "From check-in to boarding, everything was quick, comfortable, and professional. I appreciate how the airline integrates a resort service style into the flight journey", he shared.

Sun PhuQuoc Airways operates as a full-service airline, offering hot meals, standard checked baggage, a wireless entertainment system (IFE), and a business class cabin with priority amenities and optimal privileges, including access to the Sun Executive Lounge at Phu Quoc International Airport.

An airline representative noted that Hong Kong is a high-spending tourism market with significant international leisure travel demand, aligning with Phu Quoc's development direction. The new route enhances connectivity between Phu Quoc and a major financial and commercial hub in Asia, while also expanding the source of quality international visitors to the Pearl Island. This initiative is expected to help Phu Quoc move closer to its goal of becoming a new tourism and aviation hub in the region.

According to the South China Morning Post, Phu Quoc attracts many Hong Kong travelers due to its combination of island nature and diverse resort and entertainment experiences. The 30-day visa exemption policy for international travelers also boosts the destination's competitiveness.

Beyond the flight experience, international travelers can extend their journey with the comprehensive ecosystem in the South of the island. This includes: the world's longest 3-wire cable car route, the Sun World Hon Thom complex, large-scale multimedia shows like Kiss of the Sea and Symphony of the Sea, and a chain of 5-star resorts.

To celebrate the route's launch, passengers flying with Sun PhuQuoc Airways receive complimentary cable car tickets and up to a 30% discount on accommodation, dining, and spa services within the Sun Group ecosystem.

According to an airline representative, the consecutive launch of three international routes to Taipei, Seoul, and Hong Kong in a short period demonstrates the airline's continuous efforts in its "Rise to the World" strategy.

Sun PhuQuoc Airways plans to further expand its routes to Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, India, and eventually intercontinental routes to Europe and the Middle East, gradually realizing its goal of helping Phu Quoc become Vietnam's third international aviation gateway.
