From 17/7 to 20/7, Swingathon, Britain's notorious sex festival, upset residents of Allington, Lincolnshire. The village of 897 people hosted over 1,000 attendees, each paying 250 USD. Following this year's event, residents complained of being subjected to loud moans, calling the festival shady and damaging to the village's image.
Swingathon is billed as the UK's largest swingers' festival, catering to those with open sexual lifestyles, including couples, singles, and the LGBTQ+ community. This year marked the fifth time Swingathon has been held in Allington.

One Allington resident shared that villagers are embarrassed by the "swinging capital of Britain" label. Most residents are older and were shocked when their village was chosen to host Swingathon.
Kerry Voellner, the event's DJ, said that compared to previous years, this year's festival had better soundproofing, and organizers worked to "keep it as clean and sanitary as possible".
Attendees met in the glamping area, enjoyed live music and DJs, or participated in sex workshops. "They're doing lewd acts right outside our homes," one resident said.
However, Matt Cole, a representative for the organizers, said the festival "doesn't hurt anyone and it's difficult to hear anything unless you're inside". Organizers provided around 4,000 condoms and other supplies to ensure attendee safety. 50% of participants used the free sexually transmitted disease testing kits. Organizers expect attendance to double next year.
