Cambodia's Ministry of Defense announced today that a Thai fighter jet bombed "near a civilian evacuation camp in Srei Snam district, Siem Reap province."
Cambodia's Minister of Information, Neth Pheaktra, noted this marked the first time Thai forces had conducted airstrikes in Siem Reap, home to the centuries-old Angkor temple complex, including the UNESCO-recognized Angkor Wat heritage site. According to Neth Pheaktra, a Thai F-16 fighter jet penetrated over 70 km into Cambodian airspace.

General Winthai Suvaree, spokesperson for the Royal Thai Army, announced on the same day that Thai forces were controlling the disputed Prasat Ta Kwai temple, located near the border between the two countries. Cambodia continued to retaliate with various weapons, aiming to inflict damage on Thai forces.
Thailand reported on 14/12 that at least 16 soldiers had died since the conflict reignited on 7/12. Cambodia, meanwhile, stated 12 civilians had been killed and did not disclose military casualties. Hundreds of thousands of Thai and Cambodian citizens living along the border have been forced to evacuate their homes to temporary shelters.

US President Donald Trump stated last week that the two countries had agreed to a ceasefire from the evening of 13/12. Thai officials later denied this information, with Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul asserting that Thai forces would continue military actions. As of 15/12, fighting showed no signs of de-escalation.
