General Secretary To Lam sent a congratulatory letter to Thongloun Sisoulith on his re-election as Lao General Secretary and invited him to visit Vietnam.

Today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that General Secretary To Lam sent a congratulatory letter to Thongloun Sisoulith on his re-election as General Secretary of the 12th Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party. General Secretary To Lam noted that this re-election is a fitting recognition by the Party, State, and people of Laos for Thongloun Sisoulith's significant contributions, wisdom, and dedication over the past period.

The strong confidence placed in General Secretary Thongloun Sisoulith by the entire Party and people reflects a firm belief in the wise leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party as it builds and defends the nation.

General Secretary To Lam also congratulated the success of the 12th National Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party. He expressed confidence that, under the leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee and the important role of Thongloun Sisoulith, the entire Party and people of Laos will achieve the goals set by the 12th Congress, thereby building a peaceful, independent, democratic, unified, and prosperous Laos.

According to General Secretary To Lam, the excellent traditional relationship and the pure, faithful bond between the people of Vietnam and Laos have become an invaluable shared asset for both nations. This relationship also represents a common developmental principle for the two countries as they strive for national prosperity and the well-being and happiness of their people.

General Secretary To Lam expressed confidence that, in his capacity, General Secretary Thongloun Sisoulith will continue to make important contributions, further strengthening and developing the special Vietnam-Laos relationship for the benefit and aspirations of the people of both nations.

General Secretary To Lam expressed his desire to soon welcome General Secretary Thongloun Sisoulith to Vietnam. This visit would allow them to engage in in-depth discussions on strategic issues and establish major orientations for the future development of the excellent bilateral strategic partnership.

On the same day, Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung sent congratulatory letters to Bounlea Phandanouvong, Head of the External Relations Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee, and Thongsavanh Phomvihane, Lao Foreign Minister, on their election as members of the 12th Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.
