President Lee recounted on social media, while en route back to South Korea, that Mr. Trump "mentioned golf, expressing a desire to play a game with my wife and me. My wife sealed the appointment by pinky promising", referring to Kim Hye Kyung, the South Korean first lady.
The South Korean President also posted a selfie with Mr. Trump, both smiling broadly.
"After lunch today, he reiterated that we must play golf together. I initially thought he was just being polite, but it seems I need to prepare starting now", President Lee stated, extending his gratitude to Mr. Trump "for this special attention".

During his visit to Washington in 8/2025, President Lee had presented Mr. Trump with a golf club, custom-made by a South Korean company and engraved with the US President's name. The club's design was based on Mr. Trump's height and physique.
The US President owns more than 10 golf courses across the US and in various international locations, including Scotland and Ireland.
