Thailand welcomed General Secretary, President To Lam and his spouse with a 21-gun salute at Don Mueang international airport in Bangkok.

General Secretary, President To Lam and his spouse were welcomed at Don Mueang airport on the afternoon of 27/5 by Thai Deputy Prime Minister Pakorn Nilprapunt and other government officials, according to TTXVN.

At the airport, an honor guard stood on both sides of the red carpet as 21 cannon salvos rang out in welcome. This special ceremony underscored Thailand's respect for the official visit of General Secretary, President To Lam and his spouse.

During the visit, General Secretary, President To Lam is scheduled to hold talks and meet with the King and Queen of Thailand, the Prime Minister, and other senior leaders. These meetings will involve extensive discussions on major directions to effectively implement the new cooperation framework between the two nations.

The General Secretary, President will also attend the Vietnam - Thailand Business Forum and witness the signing and exchange of several cooperation documents between the two countries.

General Secretary, President To Lam and his spouse are on an official visit to Thailand from 27-29/5, at the invitation of Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and his spouse.

This marks the General Secretary, President's first visit to an ASEAN country in his new capacity. The visit occurs as relations between Vietnam and Thailand were elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 5/2025.
