CNN, citing sources familiar with the matter, revealed that three Secret Service officials, including Anthony Guglielmi, the head of the agency's communications department, have been suspended. They had their access to classified information and work equipment revoked, a standard procedure during internal investigations.
The Secret Service confirmed to CNN that three individuals were suspended but did not specify their names or the alleged misconduct.
A Secret Service spokesperson stated in a declaration on 25/8: "Three non-law enforcement personnel at the US Secret Service have been suspended pending the outcome of an investigation into alleged misconduct."
"In accordance with regulations, this matter is currently under investigation by the Office of Professional Responsibility. We cannot provide further comment at this time."

The statement further emphasized the US Secret Service's commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in its mission to protect the President and senior government officials, a role that demands absolute precision.
"Our vital work requires our personnel to consistently uphold commitments to accountability, honesty, and courage in every aspect of their duties. We will continue striving for excellence, worthy of the mission the American people have entrusted to us," the statement concluded.
CNN reached out to Guglielmi for comment but has not yet received a response.
Guglielmi previously served as communications director during a challenging period for the agency, which included assassination attempts targeting Trump. The incident in Butler, Pennsylvania, notably led to the agency director's resignation and prompted extensive organizational changes.
This investigation unfolds as the agency has faced intense scrutiny over the past few years, particularly as President Donald Trump became the target of at least three assassination plots in the last two years. Recently, Trump secretly switched planes to depart Turkey due to concerns about threats from Iran.
Following these events, several US Secret Service personnel were questioned regarding information leaks. FBI Director Kash Patel assisted in launching the initial investigation into the leaks.
This development occurred weeks after the Secret Service initiated an investigation into a member of Vice President JD Vance's security detail for allegedly leaking sensitive information.
