An F-16 fighter jet lost contact at the front line on 29/7 while performing an enemy aerial target interception mission. "Preliminary data indicates an in-flight emergency occurred, forcing the pilot to eject," the Ukrainian Air Force Command stated.

Ukrainian officials added that the pilot was safely evacuated and taken to a medical facility for health checks. "Experts and law enforcement personnel are present at the crash site. There are no casualties or damage on the ground. The cause of the incident is being clarified," the statement read.

In 2023, Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway, and Belgium pledged a total of 85 US-made F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, with the first deliveries occurring in 8/2024.
